Susan Camp Hilton is a Scarborough, Maine artist working primarily in colored pencil.  Whether her subject is people, places or flowers from her mother's garden, this medium gives her the control of pencil with the color of painting.

After graduating from University of Maine with a degree in Psychology, she worked at Canal National Bank in the Trust Department.  Then followed marriage and raising a family, leaving little time for her art. However, the desire to create was too strong.  Susan decided to further her art education through Maine College of Art's Continuing Studies Program. It was here that she was exposed to the medium she loves, colored pencil.

Then one day, when missing her grown children, she realized a spare bedroom would make a great art studio as well as alleviate that empty nest feeling.  She made the plunge and has been creating her art ever since. Her art may be seen at local exhibitions in Southern Maine.

Susan was born in Baltimore, Maryland but moved to Maine, with her family, as a toddler.  In 1989, she moved to Scarborough where she still lives with her husband, Steve.
